Equipment rental without the paper trail.

Librent is my own product: a rental management platform where the paperwork is built in. A rental business keeps its equipment, clients and reservations in one place, and when a rental is agreed, the agreement and handover documents are generated from the reservation and signed on screen. No printer, no scanning, no chasing a signed copy by post.

01The problem

The problem

A rental business runs on more than bookings. Every rental ends in paper: a rental agreement, a handover protocol, a return protocol. Those documents are typed up, printed, signed and stored in a binder, and every missing signature or misplaced page is a risk. The tools that manage the bookings do not generate or sign the paperwork, so the business ends up running two systems that never quite line up.

02The approach

The approach

01

One system for the whole rental. Equipment, clients and reservations live together, so a booking already knows which items are free and who is renting them.

02

Documents generated from data, not retyped. Agreement templates fill themselves from the reservation, with placeholders for the client, the dates, the equipment and the amounts.

03

Signing on screen. A handwritten signature is drawn with a finger or mouse and placed directly into the document, for both the client and the company.

04

Everything stored with the reservation. The agreement and the handover and return protocols stay attached to the rental they belong to, so the history is one place, not a binder.

03What the product does

What the product does

The core loop is a rental from agreement to return, with the paperwork generated and signed inside it.

01

Equipment and clients

Inventory, categories, daily rates and a client database with contact details and rental history, all in one place.

02

Reservations and calendar

Multi-item bookings with date ranges and deposits, shown on a visual calendar that prevents double-booking.

03

Agreement templates

Rental agreements and handover and return protocols fill themselves from the reservation through placeholders, no retyping.

04

On-screen signature

A signature pad captures a handwritten signature and drops it into the document for both sides.

05

Document history

Every generated and signed document stays attached to its reservation, so the whole trail is one click away.

06

Encryption and roles

Sensitive client fields are encrypted, and access is split into owner, admin and member roles per organisation.

04The result

The result

Librent folds the paperwork into the booking flow instead of bolting it on afterwards. A rental moves from reservation to signed agreement to return without a single printed page, and the document trail lives with the reservation rather than in a filing cabinet. The product is live and in use.

Automating a paper process?

If your business generates documents, signatures or handoffs by hand, this is the shape of software that removes it.
